temple square

At the beginning of the month Matt and I decided that this year we wanted to take the kids to Temple square and see the lights. So last Thursday we took the kids and met Laura and Blaine and Heather and Scott at the trax's in Sandy. We rode up and then met Jared and Sarah there. It was so much fun!! We had a blast. My favorite thing was that it wasn't very busy! We were able to see the nativity scene from the front. (a first for me!) We went in the visitors center to see the Christus, and saw Rahul's sister who is a missionary there, she leaves this week to go home. (That just made me miss Marchelle!) Then we went around to the front of the temple. It was soo pretty. I think my kids favorite part was riding trax! Curtis keeps asking us if we can go ride the choo choo train again! We had lots of fun! Here are some pics:

the good stuff

I am sorry to say to all of those who like diet drinks....but I hate them!! not the people, the drinks. I want the good stuff! I have been craving Pepsi's lately, and no I'm not pregnant, and in order to avoid sugar... I bought some diet thinking it would satisfy my cravings...but no! Now I have never been a big caffeine/ Coke/ Pepsi drinker. I would drink them here and there, but lately I don't know what has gotten into me...I love my Pepsi! I would love it if someone out their could make water taste like Pepsi, then I could drink it all day!

3 turkey days

Well this year was quite the treat! We had 3 Thanksgivings! On Thursday we went to my Grandma and Grandpa Buttars' house, Friday it was off to Laura and Blaine's, and then Saturday it was with my Parents. The past couple of years Matt and I have bought a turkey to cook because we never get enough leftovers, and this year we bought another one thinking the same...well...after 3 days of turkey we were turkeyed out!!! Have you ever imagined you could be turkeyed out? I haven't....but it happen.
Well we had a wonderful holiday and are so blessed! This is definitely one of my favorite holidays!!!Here is the kids the morning of Thanksgiving. a week of thanks

Do you ever have one of those weeks where you feel out of control of your life...your kids act out every minute of the day, and your house just seems to get dirtier even though all you do all week is clean it (or so it seems)? Your voice is octaves louder than normal all day. And you feel exhausted before you get out of bed in the morning? This past week has been one of those "weeks." And after having this kind of a week I have decided that I need to have a post of thankfulness. So here goes:

I am grateful for Sara because:
1. She plays with Zack and Curtis.
2. She lets me do her hair (most of the time).
3. She no longer has accidents during the day.
4. She loves school and is so eager to share with me her day.
5. She is quick to give up her cereal box in the morning to her brothers. She really is the peacemaker of the kids.

I am grateful for Zack because:
1. He gets himself dressed in the morning!
2. He is playing better with his brother.
3. He is a great cuddler.
4. He eats breakfast and lunch well...we're working on dinner.
5. He is so good when you take him places.

I am grateful for Curtis because:
1. He wakes up so happy.
2. He is so friendly with everyone.
3. He loves to give kisses.
4. He takes naps and is so easy to put to bed
5. He is always smiling, and is quick to laugh.

I am grateful for Matt because:
1. He always listens.
2. He believes in what I do...
3. He is a great Dad and knows just when to step in, cause mom has had enough.
4. He is a hard worker...whether it is in his own home or at work.
5. He doesn't hold a grudge or get offended easily.
6. He is a great hugger and kisser...
7. He loves me no matter how dumb I can be.
8. He tells me everything!
9. He makes his own lunches.
10. He irons his own clothes!

As a side note I am extremely grateful for the gospel and for a loving family. My closest friends are my family and I am deeply grateful for all they do for me and my family. Also I am grateful that Matt has job during this yucky economy stuff, and for a roof over our heads and vehicles that operate! I feel very blessed! I already am forgetting my bad week! Now I am grateful to have had that bad week, because it made me do this post.

goodbye innocence

My sweet and innocent little curty has succumb to the evil influence of his siblings!!!! Yesterday I didn't let curtis have something and he said the worst thing he could ever say! "I Hate You" Now I hear this phrase almost daily from his siblings, and it doesn't even phase me. In fact I almost anticipate it, but I never thought I would hear it from my sweet, little, innocent curtis! Oh how my heart hurt! This little soul who comes in my room every morning and wakes me up by showering me with his wet kisses.... who bats his eyes at you just to make you smile...who constantly wants a hug and kiss from you....who laughs uncontrollably at almost anything!! Not Curty!!! Goodbye innocence!

happy birthday zack! and deer hunt 2008

Our little Zack turned 4 a week ago on the 19th! Zack (or wac as Curtis calls him) is our sensitive one. His favorite color up until a few days ago was dark blue, it is now orange. He is quite the daddy's boy. Although I prefer to think he just pretends to be and that really inside he is a mama's boy:) His dad's favorite color is orange hence the new change of favorite color! He will do everything that his dad tells him to. Matt can get Zack to wear clothes that I can't and do things that I can't as well. As you know from previous posts Zack wore his pirate shirts almost all summer along with his camo shorts. He is very particular with what he wears even down to his underwear! He also can change his composure with in a matter of second; example: he is crying and whining about how hungry he is to me..."I say to him how do you ask me nicely"..he then with a smile on his face will say "mom can you please get me something to eat, I'm hungry." He is very neat and makes his bed everyday! He loves 4-wheeling, and riding his scooter and bike. When Gma Laura took him to pick out a birthday present he kept picking out toys for his sister and brother, she had to keep reminding him that it was a present for him! He has the kindest heart. He loves to cuddle with you and give hugs, but is a real boys boy. One of my favorite things about him are his eyes while he is laughing, they glisten. He loves his CARS cars aka lightning, the king, and chick. I love this boy with all my heart! He is a wonderful addition to our family!
We celebrated his birthday this year by going deer hunting, lets rephrase that we went camping while Matt, Michael, Jake, and Blaine went hunting. Here are some pictures: The first thing my kids do is get dirty when we go camping! And of course they found a worm....gross!Sara found a new love this past summer....powdered donuts!Four wheeling buddiesThe "real" excitement of the whole camping experience! Michael and his beautiful 4 point! The boys reenacting the deers face after being shot! Oh how I love those boys!!

The deer hunters minus Jake. Jake had to leave earlier in the day for work. Here we are, our little family camping! I am so grateful for my kids and husband, they are the best ever!!!

itty bitty football

One of my favorite things about fall is FOOTBALL! Wait or is it my husbands favorite, I can't remember! Well anyway I think it has now become a family affair! We put Zack in Itty Bitty Football through the local rec. center, and he has loved it ever since the first day! Here are a few pictures of him.

He is on the green bay packers team, and there are in all 6 different teams. They all take turns rotating around the gym doing different activities. Here are a few action pictures! Here are some of the Fans!!! Curtis, who is always asking me if he can play, whit is a neighbor that came to watch with us one day, and the bottom picture is Michael and Tiffanys baby, Christian. We are lucky enough to babysit him 3 days of the week! Isn't he just the cutest! Also we couldn't finish this post with out mentioning his buddy Colby, whose Mom is so on top of it and helped me sign zack up for football the day before it started!! He and Zack are on the same team and have so much fun together. Of course I haven't gotten a picture of the 2 of them yet, but I will soon! We are loving this fall football season and hope your family is too! GO BYU!!!
