flight of the stomach flu

It’s become an annual thing for Matt to go goose hunting the first week in January. Oh how he loves this! It’s a good thing he does too, otherwise he be in big trouble. I would have to say that I deserve mom of the year for enduring the week without him. You see our children got the stomach flu the day that he left and the boys both threw up in the car that first day he was gone. (yes I said car!) It kind of set the precedence for the week to come. But we all survived and Matt had a wonderful week of hunting. Here are some great pictures of the good part of the week!
And if you are asking yourself what do they do with the birds, they give most of them away to locals and this year we are going to try cooking some....the heart that is. Let me know if any of you want to try some! We have had the jerky and it is really good!

sledding

It's has become a favorite of ours to go sledding every winter at least once if not more! I think matt secretly wishes we were skiing as a family, and honestly so do I, but due to the economy and our growing family, sledding fits our budget a little bit better. This time baby J and I stayed home while matt and the kids met up with his parents.

christmas

For Christmas this year we spent Christmas eve with Matt’s family and enjoyed the annual crab and prime rib fest! It was delicious! Christmas morning was mostly spent at our house playing with our gifts, with the big gift this year being the wii. Finally Matt took a shower so we could head down to the grandparents to exchanged more gifts. Each year gets better and better with kids and the excitement of santa coming! Here are some favorite pics of Christmas:Here are some random pictures taken during christmas day of each of the kidsJust seeing those faces puts a smile on my face, we had a wonderful christmas and hope that all of you did too.

new years resolution

This year I have 1 new years resolution

be the best I can be

I just want to focus on being the best mom, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. I hope to concentrate more on the little things this year and not worry so much about things that don't matter.

However with that being said I do hope to blog better this year than I did last. My sister Heather just printed part of her blog into a book, and it has inspired me to be a better blogger/journalist for our family. I even got a wonderful new camera (a surprise from matt) that should help me out this year! it looks like this:
I have quite a few pictures to post of christmas and recent events so stay tuned!
